this weekend was wet and cold. freakishly so. i felt like i was back in glasgow…
and i was hungover and poor. so all plans of going to MARKit and taking a long walk were dashed. instead i stayed at home.
sometimes it’s nice to stay in and do nothing.
my own quilt is coming along nicely, though i admit i haven’t done any work on it for a few weeks now. i am terrible at putting my head down and getting really stuck in to things. in my mind i imagine that it’s a hard and tiresome business making a quilt, when – in reality – it is has (so far) been wonderfully relaxing. almost hypnotic, really.
in fact, i’ve become quite the quilt obsessive of late; bookmarking numerous blogs, ordering books from amazon and fabric from etsy and salvaging old clothes and tea towels from the chuck-out pile. if i had spent half as long actually making as i have thinking, i’d be enjoying a picnic lunch on it now. baby steps…
is it too soon to put up christmas decorations?
because i love, love, love christmas.
