i have been enjoying the daily sneak-peak of wool and the gang’s new collection on their blog: i love their stuff, so simple but stylish.
and i love even more that you can buy everything ready knit, or in kit form.
i’ve never bought anything from them (yet: hugely prohibitive shipping costs, unfortunately) but maybe this will be the season that i break down and get something (perhaps this).
as someone who has always ‘made stuff’, i am a late comer to kits (and following patterns, actually). instead i used to just look at something and figure out how it was done, and then did it myself. to varying degrees of success, it must be said. i still do this, but have recently discovered the ‘joys’ of actually reading instructions, and actually producing something that looks like it should. and my knitting (especially) is getting so much better.

i do spend a stupid amount of time looking up patterns on ravlery, and have found some good ‘interpretations’, yes.
maybe they will have to do for now, but then i’ll wait until the new watg stuff is released: maybe i’ll just have to break down and just buy one (i admit that i kind of want to get the kit because of the needles: good needles make all knitting much more enjoyable!!)
