okay; i just scored what officially is my best ever purchase from savers (dries van noten jacket in my size, begone: you look rubbish on anyway. vintage mannequin: why won’t you stand up properly? and countless pieces of clothes and crockery and bits-and-bobs: i love you, but eh, you’re nothing compared to today’s find)…
a knitting machine and ribber for $29.99.
a singer 321 memomatic machine with ribber and manual and all parts which looks to be in working order (i hope), to be exact.
happy, happy, happy!
fellow machine knitters will know that the singer 321 is pretty much your bog-standard model, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing when it comes to sourcing parts or getting it repaired. and i actually already have a singer 321 (albeit a slightly newer model), so tools and techniques (hopefully) won’t be a problem. but what i didn’t have until today’s find was a ribber attachment, and that opens up a whole new knitting world for me.
okay, you may think i’m incredibly geeky for gushing on about a knitting machine, but look at the picture above: knitwear rocks.

That is officially the best op shop find ever. $30! When will we see some ribbed delights coming from your new machine?
what, oh my, the best find indeed. Can’t wait to see some of the things you make with it and by your sense for colors it can only be amazing :)
new tools are like a whole new universe. well done!
good score!
